Brett Howard is the Director of Education and Senior “Teacher of Teachers” of the United States Pilates Association (U.S.P.A.) ™.  The U.S.P.A. is a licensee of the Authentic Pilates™ Method of Body Conditioning, and of the New York Pilates Studio® Teacher Certification Program—the first and oldest Pilates professional training program in the world.

            Mr. Howard has been certified in Authentic Pilates™ since 1998 and has been a “Teacher of Teachers” since 2003.  He has trained extensively with Master Teachers: Romana Kryzanowska, Mary Bowen and Lolita San Miguel.  Brett is also featured throughout several Pilates books and traditional media, including The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning, by Sean P. Gallagher and Romana Kryzanowska.

 Brett Howard is recognized in the Pilates industry as an expert in the Joseph Pilates Archival Exercises, and teaches them around the world.  He also specializes in Continuing Education Seminars focused around Authentic Pilates and the nature of body conditioning for all ages, body types and special needs clients, including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia.

              In 2004, Brett Howard opened The Pilates Haus, a studio dedicated to Authentic Pilates™, located in historic downtown Jersey City, New Jersey.  The Pilates Haus' mission is to preserve and perpetuate Joseph Pilates' original system of body conditioning.

 Brett Howard holds a B.F.A. in Dance from S.U.N.Y Purchase College Conservatory of Dance and is currently a graduate student at New York University Steinhardt School of Education, where he will receive an M.A. in Dance Education.  He has also accomplished extensive coursework and practice within the science of physical therapy and rehabilitation, training with Master Teacher and Physical Trainer, Sean P. Gallagher.

             Mr. Howard has presented at the 2004 National Dance Education Conference and the 2005 New York Dance Education Conference.  He has had his work published in the 2004 N.D.E.O. Conference proceedings.

 Brett Howard has danced for Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Steven Koplowitz, Tarin Chaplin, Hemiko Minota, Renata Celichowska and the Faun Dance Troupe.  He is the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the dance company Brett Howard and Company, which he founded in 2001.
